 Ludlow seedling and plant swap - Saturday 4th May, 10.30 - 12.30
Following on from the success of the seed swap  we're planning a seedling and plant swap. It'll be the same place (Old Brewery, next to the 'new' Brewery) so free parking and child friendly.

Facebook link here https://www.facebook.com/events/429295421169502/  - please share share share!

Come along and support us with excess and unwanted seedlings, cuttings, houseplants etc. , both edibles and ornamentals. If you have nothing to share, come along anyway and give a pay-as-you-feel donation to support Incredible Edible Ludlow.

Hope to see lots of you there and please, spread the word.

The Plant Hunters’ Fairs spring newsletter is out now and packed full of articles by our nurseryfolk and head gardeners.
We wondered if you could bring it to the attention of your club or society members and friends.
They can read, download or print the newsletter from our website at www.planthuntersfairs.co.uk/newsletters

I am writing to you from Butterfly Conservation, the UK charity devoted to saving butterflies, moths and the environment.  We have a number of gardening activities running at the moment that I thought might be of interest to the members of the Caynham and District Gardening Society.
The Garden Butterfly Survey is free to join and helps us build up a picture of how garden butterfly species are faring across the UK.  Records submitted to the survey will be used by our network of county Butterfly Recorders and form part of local and national recording schemes that help inform conservation research.
Our new gardening campaign, Plant Pots for Pollinators, is aimed at increasing the distribution and abundance of butterfly-friendly plants to help provide nectar for butterflies and other pollinating insects.  It would be wonderful if your members could plant some butterfly-friendly pots and even submit their locations on our map.
Finally, we would be delighted to offer your members a 50% discount if they wished to join Butterfly Conservation as Individual, Joint or Family members by Direct Debit using promotional code GARDEN16.  Details of our standard membership prices and categories can be found here on our website.  All members receive a welcome pack full of information about butterflies and moths, including a copy of the brilliant ‘Gardening for Butterflies & Moths’ by gardening writer Kate Bradbury, which has been produced exclusively for our charity.
I have attached a poster which promotes these campaigns, and I wondered if you would be happy to display or forward it to your members, perhaps with next newsletter or as a link on your website?
If you would like any further information about Butterfly Conservation, our network of reserves, local Branches, conservation projects and recording schemes, please visit our website at www.butterfly-conservation.org.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions regarding the above.
With many thanks and kind regards
Vicky Fernandes
